Bringing fresh air and a new lease of life to a historic building
1
Initial Brief

As part of an extensive redevelopment designed by MoreySmith, Film House is transitioning from office space to a beautiful new hotel.

Sertus were approached by Flatt Consulting to provide design and advice for the mechanical smoke ventilation system which is protecting Film House's firefighting core.

2
Challenges

The iconic central-Soho location and the building's close proximity to residents meant that the mechanical smoke extract fan had to achieve an extremely high acoustic performance. To deliver this Sertus sourced a bespoke high-performance attenuator and redesigned the Roof Mechanical Pod to ensure that the acoustic requirements were exceeded.

3
Outcome

This project is still ongoing.
