The development at Wimpson Lane in Maybush, known as Potters Court, provides 84 extra care apartments and 15 general needs flats for the over-50's.
This low-rise development required a natural ventilation system to protect the residents, some of whom suffer from limited mobility and cognitive impairment.
This project posed the challenge of designing a facade ventilation system which met the building's BREEAM ratings and also interfaced with the comprehensive facade glazing specification.
The patent glazing system specified for the building had tolerances of only two millimetres which meant that each Sertus unit had to arrive on site manufactured to perfection.
Sertus worked with Drew Smith to deliver multi-faceted natural smoke ventilation system which required coordination across multiple packages to ensure that the smoke ventilation system worked harmoniously.
The Sertus Networked Control System (CNS-R) integrates with the Building Management System (BMS) to allow for interfacing with smoke detection and environmental cooling.
