With its unique mix of deep corten reveals, curtain walling, corten soffits and twisted fin brise soleil to the upper floors, The Frames stands out from the crowd. Constructed by HG in 2018, this commercial rebuild is protected by Sertus smoke ventilation.

The perfect combination of smoke and access control

Overview

Situated in the heart of Shoreditch, The Frames is a five-storey development of 68 offices and studios and a collaborative workspace. Sertus were asked to provide automatic opening smoke vents for smoke control and a roof access hatch to assist with maintaining the rooftop plant. The access hatch has concrete stairs leading up to it, meaning no ladder is required to reach the roof. The access hatch also doubles as an automatic opening smoke vent. The access opens via a key fob for general egress and a connection to the fire alarm opens in alarm to allow anyone on the roof access back down.
