About this course.

This one-day training course is carried out in two parts.


The theory section is completed online to ensure a comprehensive understanding of smoke control prior to the practical module.


The practical section takes place at our bespoke training facility in Cranleigh. Delivered by a certified fire risk assessor, this final part will give you the practical understanding required to competently install Sertus smoke ventilation equipment.

Course programme.

Course length: 1 Day
The course is comprised of five units, four theoretical and one practical, broken down as follows:

Review Fire Safety for Residential Buildings
Unit 2
Understanding the Principles of Smoke Control
Unit 3
Smoke Control to Commons Escape Routes within High Risk Residential Buildings (HRRB)
Unit 4
Design, Manufacture, & Certification of Smoke Control Systems
Unit 5
Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance of Sertus Smoke Control Panels and Accessories
