State-of-the-art protection for a statement showroom
1
Initial Brief

Sertus were approached to provide a mechanical smoke ventilation system for a firefighters core which was required due to the large floor space of the showroom.

2
Challenges

Whilst initially approached for the mechanical smoke ventilation system for the building, Sertus were also asked to design, supply and commission a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), due to the fact the project only had a single electrical supply available. Providing this additional power supply ensures that even in the unlikely case of primary supply failure, the firefighting core of this iconic building will still be protected from smoke.

3
Outcome

In addition to the protection afforded by the smoke control system and the Uninterruptible Power Supply, the Sertus Roof Mechanical Pod (RMP-R) complements the building aesthetic, meaning that the upper-level car park is not blighted by unsightly plant.
