In 2023, Gallico Systems faced a complex and time-sensitive challenge to install five smoke ventilation systems in Station Quarter, a new-build residential block of flats in Northamptonshire. The project required a rapid and effective solution to ensure the safety of the residents while maintaining strict adherence to fire safety regulations. As the selected manufacturer, we worked closely with the main contractor and the smoke ventilation contractor, Gallico Systems, to address these needs within a tight timeframe.
Sertus provided a range of high-quality smoke ventilation products for Station Quarter, including our Roof Single Leaf – Residential (RSL-R) smoke vents, Shaft Louvre Dampers (SLD-R), and a Mechanical Extract Pod (RMP-R). The RSL-R vents were selected for their rapid opening capability, reaching 160 degrees within 60 seconds, and their high thermal efficiency with various glazing options. These vents are also classified BROOF (t4) for fire resistance, ensuring robust protection.
The Shaft Louvre Dampers and Mechanical Extract Pod were integral to providing reliable smoke control across multiple zones. Together, these components ensure optimal ventilation performance and compliance with safety standards, delivering a secure and well-ventilated environment for the residents.
